About

UTravelActive is a Big Lottery funded innovative partnership project promoting active travel in Leeds among students, university staff and local communities. Active travel is walking and cycling for everyday journeys.

Travel is an integral part of our lives and most of us spend a couple of hours a day getting to work, to a place of study, to friends, to the shops or just home. This time is used more smartly when it is active time. Building walking and cycling into your daily routine will help you to enjoy fresh air, keep fit, and lead a healthier life.

We offer a wide programme of activities, support and advice for walking and cycling, including the Velocampus Leeds student bike hire, the first of its kind in the UK, based in our Velocampus bike hub. We hope that the UTravelActive project will have a positive effect on people's wellbeing and the environment, working to ensure Leeds is a liveable city.
