Speakers into Schools

Speakers into Schools is a programme of specialised talks and workshops, delivered by experienced academics, and aimed at students in Years 12 and 13. We offer a wide range of fascinating lectures that can be used to enhance school lessons, and raise enthusiasm and attainment in chosen subjects.

The Speakers into Schools programme includes lectures in subject areas not usually covered in post 16 studies and is a good introduction to the range of subjects studied at university.

We offer talks from faculties across the University, including Arts, Engineering, Medicine and Health. A full list of the available talks, and further information on some of the talks, can be found by
clicking here.

The lectures are designed to meet your needs, and can be delivered either here at the University
or at your school. However, some talks are fairly specialised and may attract interest from smaller groups so we would therefore ask that in some cases, schools and colleges play host to students
from other schools and colleges.

We will endeavour to meet all requests for talks. However, we are more likely to secure your booking if you are able to be flexible and give reasonable notice.

Bookings from selective schools will be considered on an individual basis but cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the funding of this programme.
