Culture
The University of Leeds has a proud and rich cultural heritage which it is keen to share with the city. Much of our cultural activity and assets are open to the public and are being developed to become more accessible to our staff, students, local communities and the wider world. These include:
- The Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery
- University Library Special Collections
- University of Leeds International Textiles Archive (ULITA)
- ‘Dare’
- Marks in Time Archive Exhibition
- Clothworkers’ Centenary Concert Hall
- stage@leeds
- The Refectory
In 2007 a Culture Steering Group and a Culture Task Group were established to oversee the development and implementation of an institutional cultural strategy. Committed to developing the cultural life of the University, we have begun to strategically nurture our relationships with both the city council and other regional cultural institutions through several high profile projects, partnerships and events.
