In this seminar, Dr Bryan Roberts (LSE) will speak on: 'The Curious Case of Reversal in Time'
Date: 29-10-2014Time: 15:15 - 17:00
Dr Roberts writes:
How is the past different from the future? The tool that modern physics uses to study that question is called time reversal. This talk is a philosophical tour of time reversal symmetry: how it pervasively influenced the development of modern physics, how it appeared in some of the most shocking empirical discoveries of the 20th century, and what implications it has for the metaphysics of the natural world.
This is one of a regular series of seminars run by the Centre for History and Philosophy of Science. Seminars are open to staff and students of the University of Leeds and other universities, and to interested members of the public.
