Celebrating Hercules in the Modern World

Celebrating Hercules in the Modern World welcomes scholars from history, art history, world literatures, drama, music, film and cultural studies to share their expertise on Hercules in many contexts.

Papers will explore Hercules in the context of literature, religion, animation, film, TV, radio, drama, video-games, architecture, foundation myths, politics and popular thought.

In addition, there will be a presentation in the Clothworkers’ Concert Hall of a film of the April 2017 première of Herakles, a new oratorio by Tim Benjamin, who will introduce his work.
