Teaching and learning facilities
The Language Centre Facility teams maintain
language teaching rooms and equipment and provide a central service
to all students and staff in the University who wish to learn
foreign languages.
On the 2nd floor of the Parkinson Building you will find:
- the Self-Access Area, open to all students and staff of the University
- the Gallery, which is an extension of the Self-Access Area.
- 2 digital language laboratories,
with interactive whiteboards, each with a capacity of 26
positions
- 2 PC classrooms, with student PCs and interactive whiteboards
- 5 teaching rooms
equipped specifically for the teaching of languages (video/DVD/audio
players). 3 of these with interactive whiteboards
- 2 Interpreter Training Facilities used by the Centre for Translation Studies for students of simultaneous interpreting
The 3rd floor houses offices of the teaching and
administrative staff, a student common room, a resource room
for teachers and 3 teaching rooms, with interactive whiteboards.
On the 12th floor of the Ziff
Building, we have offices and 5 teaching rooms with interactive
whiteboards and the Language Studio, with student PCs.
In addition to our main premises, we use teaching space in other parts of the campus.
