Phoebe Ryan, the winner of the 2016 Canadian Studies Essay Prize discusses her interest in First Nations writing and global indigeneity and what inspired her to write about Canadian Literature.
The CCS is delighted to announce that the winner of the 2016 Canadian Studies Essay Prize is Phoebe Ryan, a postgraduate student in the School of English.
Dr. Bates was appointed Director of the CCS in 2016. Her research focuses mainly on ecocriticism, representations of waste, archive theory and ethical reading practice.
My role is to organise events, liaise with other departments and maintain our digital presence. I am also studying for an MA in Postcolonial Literary and Cultural Studies in the School of English.
