InterComm Pre-sessional Programme

Are you planning to study for a postgraduate degree in one of the following subject areas:

- Communications Studies and Journalism?

- Politics, Development and related fields?

- Translation and Interpreting Studies?

The programme will help to prepare you with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful study at postgraduate level and at the same time help you to improve your English language skills.

The programme will:

  • help you to improve your level of academic English to meet university requirements
  • improve your academic reading, writing, listening and speaking skills
  • provide you with practice writing assignments, giving presentations and participating in seminar discussions
  • provide an introduction to current affairs
  • develop your understanding of University systems, services and facilities

You can study the InterComm pre-sessional programme full-time, 21 hours per week, for 6 weeks (Aug-Sep).  However, if you wish to study for 10 weeks from July, we recommend that you join the Academic English for Postgraduate Studies pre-sessional for 4 weeks and then transfer to the InterComm pre-sessional at the beginning of August.
