The following pre-sessional courses are designed to prepare you for a Masters degree starting in 2017-18.

If you have an offer for a taught postgraduate programme and wish to do a summer pre-sessional, you may be eligible for a combined offer. *Please note: in Term 4 (summer), the Academic English for Postgraduate Studies course is only offered at Level 1, to students who intend to study at the Language Centre for multiple terms before progressing to postgraduate study in 2018. The Discipline-specific pre-sessionals for postgraduate studies run during Term 4 for students starting in October 2017.
A pre-sessional course is designed to help international students develop their English and academic study skills in preparation for a UK university education. These courses will help you to:
- Improve your level of academic English to meet University entry requirements
- Learn about academic study conventions in the UK
- Improve academic writing techniques
- Develop research skills
- Enhance the study skills needed to help you be more successful at degree level
