Research postgraduate admissions
How to apply
View pages in this documentFor PhD study, a good Master's degree or similar postgraduate qualification is the normal requirement. You will find specific information about the research interests of our staff on the relevant subject web pages.
Before a formal application can be made, we normally require a CV and a research proposal. In some cases, however (e.g. where you have already identified a specific member of staff whom you wish to supervise your research), you may first make an informal enquiry to the member of staff concerned. But, in all cases, a formal research proposal must be submitted before a decision about the application can be made.
Following the submission and acceptance by the School of your research proposal, you are required to supply the following
- A completed application form for research postgraduate study
- Transcripts of your academic record and evidence of your degree(s)
- Contact details for 3 academic referees
- International students, evidence of an English language qualification.
