The Health, Medicine and Society group runs a reading group and holds seminars throughout the academic year. We also run a number of different events relating to particular projects. In September 2014, we hosted a conference 'Birth: Personal Stories to Population Policies' involving historians working on the medieval to the modern period, keynote papers from Professor Kate Fisher and Professor Simon Szreter, as well as a handling session by the Thackray Medical Museum. Our researchers have also organised conferences on Medicine and the First World War in Europe and the church and hospital of the Mendicanti in Venice. You are what you ate, a project examining the history of food, also runs a number of public events. To keep up to date, please join our mailing list by emailing Shane Doyle, and you can find our latest events listed on our home page.
