Contributions to Profession

Philosophers and historians of science at Leeds edit a number of leading international journals including: British Journal for the Philosophy of Science, Religious Studies, Studies in History and Philosophy of Biological and Biomedical Sciences and Thought. They also provide editorial support for: British Journal of Aesthetics, Ergo, Journal of Applied Philosophy, Philosophy Compass, Philosophical Explorations, Semantics & Pragmatics and Thought. Members of staff have also assumed the editorships of book series including: the BSPR Monograph Series in Philosophy of Religion (Ashgate), Continuum Studies in Philosophy of Religion (Bloomsbury), New Directions in Philosophy of Science (Palgrave MacMillan) and Science in Culture in the Nineteenth Century (Pickering & Chatto).

Members of the School also sit on the boards and committees of a wide variety of scholarly organisations, such as: The American Society for Aesthetics, The Analysis Committee, The British Society of Aesthetics, The British Society for Ethical Theory, The British Society for the History of Science, The British Society for the Philosophy of Religion, The British Society for the Philosophy of Science, The European Philosophy of Action Network, The European Philosophy of Science Association, The International Society for the History, Philosophy and Social Studies of Biology, The Royal Institute of Philosophy and The Society for Applied Philosophy.
