Postgraduate students and researchers are a vital and growing part of our applied ethics community. As a postgraduate student at the Centre you will have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities, including research seminars, reading groups, and conferences.
A postgraduate qualification in applied ethics will help you to stand out from the crowd, demonstrating to employers that you are able to analyse arguments, reason and express yourself clearly. Postgraduate study in applied ethics will develop you both personally and professionally, and will enable you to respond effectively to the ethical challenges that arise during your working life.
Taught Masters Programmes
Postgraduate study in applied ethics at the University of Leeds enables you to gain a thorough understanding of ethical theory and how it applies to real-life situations. Our taught Masters degree programmes are primarily aimed at professionals who wish to develop their ethical thinking, especially as it relates to their professional practice. Our programmes are also popular with Philosophy graduates who wish to focus on applied ethics.
Our teaching is developed in consultation with professionals working in the field to ensure that it is informed by the latest developments in practice. As active researchers, we also ensure that all our courses are informed by the latest academic arguments and debates.
