“Good basis for learning the language, lots of practical exercises.” Matthew Wilson, English Language and Literature, 2nd year – Beginner Italian

"I recommend it because it is very well taught and can give you a great start to learning the language.”
Andrew Cawley, Chinese, 4th year – Elementary Italian

“It encourages speaking Italian, informal and formal, useful for real life applications.” Kinza Fayeq-Shennib, English Language and Literature, 2nd year – Lower Intermediate Italian

Which levels do we offer?

We offer Italian modules from Beginner to Lower Intermediate level to undergraduate students at the University of Leeds. These modules are offered as 10 or 20 credit discovery modules and are taught across both semesters or in one semester only.

Please note that due to our 10 credit modules being half the content than our 20 credit modules, it is difficult to progress to the next level.  If you would like the option of progressing to higher levels over your time at the University, please consider the relevant 20 credit module or consult the module tutor regarding further options.
