If you want to really deepen your understanding of the languages, cultures, society and history of these areas, then Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies at Leeds is the place for you.
Studying with us will enable you to reach a very high level of linguistic proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese (and even Catalan), to obtain a thorough grasp of a wide range of cultural and socio-historical topics, and to acquire an array of skills for you graduate career.
Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies at Leeds
We are part of the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies which is home to more than 2,000 students and 140 staff. As one of the largest units of Hispanic/Iberian studies in UK Higher Education, Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies at the University is a fantastic place to study and youll become part of a lively and cosmopolitan community, with plenty of opportunities and events to enjoy.
You can choose to study single honours:
BA Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies
Or you can study Spanish or Portuguese with another subject as a joint honours course. We offer many combinations, including politics, English, international business, economics, philosophy, French and many more.
And dont forget your compulsory residence abroad in a Spanish and/or Portuguese-speaking country!
