Cross-Disciplinary Podcast Project

This project aims to create a bank of recorded presentations by academics from across the Faculty of Arts. These podcasts, which will be recorded over the academic year 2008-09, aim to introduce students to the breadth of expertise in the Faculty, in ways which extend their knowledge beyond the constraints of individual modules.

Each podcast episode will last 15-30 minutes. It will introduce the topic, and suggest ways in which students might explore it further. Because the aim is to bring topics to students who are working on related, but not identical, areas, each episode will be accessible to non-specialists.

There will be seven ­series of podcasts:

3. The Classical World
4. Post-Colonial Studies
5. Eighteenth-Century History, Culture and Thought
6. Themes in World Cinema Studies
7. Popular Culture
