The Centre has a vigorous programme of research seminars and reading groups.

The main seminar series (see HPS Seminar Series) takes place fortnightly with visiting speakers from the UK and overseas.  A weekly work-in-progress seminar (see HPS Work-in-Progress Seminar) allows staff and postgraduates the opportunity to present and respond to current research work in a more informal setting.

At any one time, numerous reading groups are under way.  At present, groups in History and Philosophy of Biology, Integrated HPS, Philosophy of Science, and Science and Print Culture in Late Georgian Britain.

Members of the Centre also benefit from seminars organized by the Department of Philosophy and its other constituent research centres (Metaphysics and Mind, Ethics and Metaethics, Aesthetics), by the Interdisciplinary Ethics Applied Centre, and by other groups in the Faculty and beyond.

Postgraduates in the Centre also present papers at a weekly Postgraduate Seminar series.
