University of Leeds Language Centre and Languages at LeedsMet University have joined forces again to organise the 2nd Languages Festival, as part of the national 'Speak to the Future' campaign.

SPES students are reunited on a day-trip to Haworth

Chinese students who studied on the Language Centre Special Postgraduate Entry Scheme in Shanghai this summer were re-united for a day-trip to Haworth this weekend.

Interest in foreign language modules offered by the Foreign Language Teaching Unit is increasing, particularly in non-European languages. 10% more students have enrolled onto modules this semester.

Language Centre Alumni were re-united in Vietnam when Mary-Anne Ansell, Executive Director of the Language Centre, visited Ho Chi Minh City.

Language Exchange Meeting

Over 700 students have joined the Language Centre’s ‘Language Exchange scheme’ that was launched last week.

Students who completed the Special Postgraduate Entry Scheme in Shanghai this summer were welcomed to the University of Leeds on 19th September. They are about to embark on Masters courses at Leeds.

Beginners Punjabi will be available again from September 2011 for students who would like to take this as an elective module.

Hebrew will be available again from September 2011 for students who would like to take this as an elective module.
