The Global Centre for Introducing the Messenger Prize in Islamic Studies is awarded to the student in the final year of a programme of study leading to the award of the degree of BA (Hons) in Islamic Studies who achieves the best overall mark.

The School of Languages, Cultures and Societies Prize is awarded to the student who is judged to have achieved the best performance in the Final Year of any programme of study administered by the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies.

The Don Rimmington Award  is awarded to a graduating student of a Joint or Single Honours programme of study in East Asian Studies who achieves the best average mark in their final year across their degree programme.  
The awardee will automatically be nominated for the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies prize on behalf of East Asian Studies.

New for 2014: Ko Cheuk-hung awards
Ko Cheuk-hung MBE (1902-1987) was a Hong Kong philanthropist who contributed to the rescuing of the destitute after WWII, and particularly the suppression of abduction and trafficking of women and children. He became the first entrepreneur from capitalist Hong Kong to meet Chairman Mao in 1956.

Ko Cheuk-hung Memorial Prize for the best logbook from the Year Abroad in China is awarded to the student on a BA (Single Honours or Joint Honours) Chinese programme who produces the best logbook essay in English from their Year Abroad in China.

The Philip Thody Memorial Prize is awarded for intellectual excellence by a finalist in French.

The Joan Brown Prize is awarded to the student in the first year of a programme of study leading to the award of the degree of BA in Single Honours Russian, or in a Joint Honours combination with Russian, for excellence in Russian language attainment in Level 1.

The Lucy Whitmell Italian Prize is awarded to the student who shows the greatest merit in the subject of Italian in examinations and coursework leading to the degree of BA (Hons) in Italian (or in Italian combined with another subject). Exceptionally, this year Italian at Leeds decided to award the prize ex-aequo to three students, who stood out for their academic results and different qualities which were considered worthy of special recognition. Emily Fionda impressed the committee for her full-rounded academic profile and the consistent excellence of her achievements throughout her 4-year programme; Amy Holland acquired an exceptional level of linguistic awareness in Italian and her uncommon skills in translation from and into Italian deserved to be highlighted; Rachel Johnson combined a strong academic profile with a remarkable originality and incisive critical thinking.

Camões Prize for the best Final Year student in Portuguese is awarded to the student in the final year of a programme of study leading to the award of the degree of BA (Hons) in Portuguese (Joint Honours or BA Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies) who achieves the best mark in Level Three Portuguese (as determined by the average obtained in all modules taken in Portuguese).

Instituto Cervantes Prize for the best Level 1 student in Spanish is awarded to the student in the first year of a programme of study leading to the award of the degree of BA (Hons) in Spanish (Single or Joint Honours) who achieves the best mark in SPPO1010 Practical Language Skills in Spanish 1.

Instituto Cervantes Prize for the best Final Year student in Spanish is awarded to the student in the final year of a programme of study leading to the award of the degree of BA (Hons) in Spanish (Single or Joint Honours) who achieves the best mark in Level 3 Spanish (as determined by the average obtained in all modules taken in Spanish).
