AULC Conference 2017

The AULC conference 2017, hosted by Queens University Belfast on 12-13 January was attended by a record number of delegates, including several UoL language representatives.

The University of Leeds was well represented at the inspiring The AULC conference 2017 by Carolin Schneider (Language Zone Manager), Melinda Whong (Chair in Language Learning and Teaching; Language Centre Director), María García Florenciano (Spanish Teaching Fellow, LCS), Juan Muñoz López (Spanish Teaching Fellow, LCS), Patrizia Lavizani (Italian Teaching Fellow, LfA), Julia Palacios Vergara (Spanish Teaching Fellow, LfA), Christopher Lacey (Japanese Teaching Fellow, LfA) Peter Howarth (now retired) and Caroline Campbell (Director, Languages for All).

Maria and Juan gave a presentation about using authentic materials to enhance students’ employability and cultural awareness; Carolin talked about co-curricular language learning activities; Patrizia showcased her Italian digital project; and Caroline talked about student-centred assessment.
