Biography

Juan comes from La Mancha, in central Spain and he studied English, French and Spanish Linguistics and Literature at the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. He continued his studies at the Universidad de Alicante, where he obtained his PGCE. Juan took his M.A. in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija (Madrid).

Juan has been working for the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies since 2002, where he has taken an active part in the development of all language modules syllabus . Juan is also currently working for Leeds Metropolitan University.

His academic interests include integration of ICT and language teaching, new teaching-learning approaches, material creation and development, pragmatics and non-verbal communication. He also has an interest in the evolution of modern Spanish society and cinema.
