Background
After graduating from the University of Algiers' Institute of Translation and Interpreting in 1998, I undertook postgraduate studies at the University of Leeds, where I gained an MA in Interpreting and Translation (English-Arabic-French) and a PhD in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies. Prior to joining the University of Leeds, I taught Arabic translation and interpreting at higher education institutions and government and non government organisation whilst also developing examination materials which have been accredited by the Chartered Institute of Linguists. I have a specific interest in developing strategies and teaching techniques in Arabic as a foreign language and understand the problem faced by Arabic non-native learners.
