Biography

Honor graduated from the University of Sheffield in 1976. After gaining a PGCE, she taught for some years in primary, secondary and further education. For part of that time, she also worked as a free-lance translator, and was awarded a Diploma in Translation from the Institute of Linguists in 1990. She later returned to the University of Sheffield to study part-time for my PhD investigating the use of humour in the poetry of Clément Marot. She joined the Department of French at Leeds University in 2005.

Her main interests are focussed on the Renaissance period, with particular interests in satirical writing and comic theory. Her publications include:
