Interests in articulatory, acoustic and instrumental phonetics (spectrography, laryngography, electropalatography, aerometry); phonetics and phonology of English and Arabic; non-generative approaches to phonology, especially phonotactics; phonetics and phonology of disordered speech. Barry is happy to consider applications for postgraduate research in any of these areas.
Barry has recently published research papers in the Journal of the International Phonetic Association, Transactions of the Philological Society and Clinical Phonetics & Linguistics.
