Biography
I completed my MRes at the University of Leeds in 2005 and stayed on to complete my PhD study in 2009. In 2007-8 I carried out fieldwork in relation to my thesis on German pop literature while based at the Johannes-Gutenberg Universität Mainz. I have worked as a freelance translator of academic research in the Arts and Humanities and teach on modules at all levels of undergraduate study.
I am an employability officer in the School of Modern Languages and enjoy creating job opportunities for our undergraduate and postgraduate students by developing new partnerships with business in Germany in the UK. In this role I work in tandem with the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Manchester region, Mr Mark Green, and Haribo GmbH (Dunhill Confectionary, Pontefract) to convene the German Business Student of the Year competition.
