Summary: Postgraduate research administration and support

Location: Michael Sadler Building

I support all practices and processes in all areas of postgraduate research student administration, postgraduate research scholarships and provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director of Postgraduate Research, the Director of the Institute for Medieval Studies and Professoriate.

My main areas of responsibility are:

  • Supporting the operations of the postgraduate research programmes run by the School of History and Institute for Medieval Studies include PhD, MA by Research, MPhil and Distance Learning programmes
  • Being the first point of contact for postgraduate researchers, academics and external staff on all aspects of postgraduate research during the research academic lifecycle
  • Responsible for the efficient and accurate administration of all areas of postgraduate research administration including monitoring research supervision and managing the processes surrounding programme support, academic progression and examination 
  • Postgraduate research scholarships including alumni bursaries
  • Providing pastoral support for postgraduate researchers
  • Managing postgraduate research funds within the School and additional grants awarded to scholarship holders
  • Supporting postgraduate research events, training and involvement in research clusters
  • Supporting the Director of Postgraduate Research and the Director of the Institute for Medieval Studies in respect of all postgraduate research matters
  • Liaising with Postgraduate Research and Operations and other Central University Services
