+44 (0)113 343 8074

Summary: My role is to run projects and events which ensure that our students have the best possible learning experience whilst at University.

Location: Michael Sadler Building

Overview

Essentially my role as an Education Enhancement Officer is to develop projects to enhance the "student experience".

A key part of my role is to organise employability workshops and events. With the Careers Centre I develop workshops which help our students to recognise and articulate their employability skills. Our flagship event is the Expo, which is held every November. For further information about my employability events and activities please see: http://arts.leeds.ac.uk/employability

I am also the supervisor for Undergraduate Research Scholars in the Faculty of Arts: http://arts.leeds.ac.uk/ugresearch

I help organise the Undergraduate Research Experience (UGRE) a showcase event for excellent research undertaken by our undergraduate students:

I help manage the Pan-Arts Super Seminars (PASS). These sessions have been called "internationally very distinctive" by leading academic, Professor Myra Strober, Stanford University. These interdisciplinary workshops have been designed to harness the potential of all students in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. The sessions are structured so that no specific preparation is required, nor is there any assessment. The focus is instead on creativity and lively interaction. To find out more, please see:

I also manage the Student-Led Change project, a new initiative to enable our students to identify issues effecting their studies, and and empower them to come up with solutions to solve these problems. To find out more, please see: http://arts.leeds.ac.uk/studentledchange
