The project is a student-staff collaborative evaluation of the value of Broadening and specifically the case for language learning as part of the Leeds Curriculum.

Further information

I have been actively engaged in language learning since graduating from the University of Aberdeen with an MA in French and completing a PGCE at the University of Warwick. I taught French and German in a secondary school in North Yorkshire before moving to Japan to teach English. In my spare time I studied Japanese and passed Level 2 of the Japanese Proficiency Test. My first contact with the Language Centre was as a teaching fellow (1994-2000) when I taught EAP on a variety of courses. I left to take up the post of Senior Tutor with the International Foundation Programme at the University of Reading (2000-2003). I was largely responsible for the design and delivery of the Academic Skills module.
