Studying in Turin under the Erasmus scheme is the best decision I have made during my time at Leeds. I spent a year studying American and postcolonial literature in the prestigious American Studies department at L’Universita di Torino, and returned to Leeds full of enthusiasm for my final year and ready to study harder than ever.
During my time in Turin I made friends from all over the world, and came back a confident communicator. As a result I have been given a position as Student Ambassador for the School of English, giving talks to lecture halls full of prospective students.
Although people are often nervous about coming back when most of their friends have graduated, this year has been such an adventure and I’ve made so many friends who have also studied abroad. Having experienced beautiful weather, beautiful food, and some incredible people, I feel more than ready to begin my life after university, and would recommend a year in Europe to all English students!
