Welcome to the AUA at the University of Leeds
The Leeds University network of the Association of University Administrators is part of a wider international network of some 4000 members. The AUA is an open and accessible body for all those with administrative and managerial responsibilities or interests in higher education - this includes administrators, managers, academic staff and senior secretarial and clerical staff. Membership is on a personal and individual basis. (More information can be found on the 'Joining AUA' page on the AUA national website.)
The AUA's membership categories now include the opportunity to have your CPD formally accredited by the Association. Further details are available on the AUA's Membership Accrediation page.
The University's network, is normally co-ordinated by a team of local "advocates" for the Association, aims to meet the objectives of AUA membership which are as follows;
- Support for your career development
- Networking opportunities
- Information on Current HE issues
- Help to raise the profile of the profession
In 2013, the network received the AUA Annual Award for Network Good Practice. The AUA judges said that the Leeds AUA, had "gained the commitment and interest of senior leaders as a channel through which they can communicate, have secured an impressive list of speakers, and have quantitative evidence of success." (The news item on the For Staff page is accessible here.)
We are currently looking for AUA members to take on the role of advocates at the University - can you spare us some time?
Anyone can ask to become a local advocate for the AUA at any time; we'd therefore like to hear from you if you are interested in taking an active role in helping to run the AUA here at Leeds, or if you would like to learn more about how membership of the AUA can be of benefit to you.
Get in touch to find out more (our details can be found on the Contact Us page).
