Accessibility
All web sites at the University of Leeds are required to conform
accessibility
guidelines from September 2002.
The developers of Boxmind Enlighten have been keen to take accessibility requrements on board in the development of the software. The combination of images, audio and text has the potential to be of great value in presenting the material in a variety of ways for learners with different needs. There are also specific accessibility features including variable text size and contrast. The following priority 1 guideline are particularly important
for authoring with Boxmind. Follow the links to get advice on how
best to meet the priorities.
1.1 - Provide a text equivalent
for every non-text element.
1.3 - Until browsers can automatically
read aloud the text
equivalent of a visual track provide an auditory description of
the important information of the visual track of a multimedia
presentation.
1.4 - For any time-based
multimedia presentation (e.g., a movie or animation), synchronise
equivalent alternatives (e.g., captions or auditory descriptions
of the visual track) with the presentation.
