The Campus Meal Plan Card 2011/12
Notes for residents of Ellerslie, Lyddon & Charles Morris Halls
What is it?
The Campus Meal Plan Card enables residents of catered residences on campus - Ellerslie, Lyddon & Charles Morris Halls to obtain meals in the refectory without the need for cash.
You will be issued with your card shortly after you move in. It is your personal card and is not transferable, please do not attempt to lend it to anyone.
Each day from Monday to Friday during term the value of £9.40 will be automatically added to your card for spending in the refectory on that day, on Saturdays and Sundays £5.70 will be loaded. You must present your card at the till in order to spend the value on it. Please note that no change will be given and any unspent balance will not be carried forward to future days.
Where and when can it be used?
The Meal Plan can be spent during term time, apart from Gig nights, in the Refectory at the following times:
Monday to Friday -
Starting from the 10th January 2011 your Meal Plan cards will now be valid from 8.00 - 11.30am and 2.00 - 6.30pm on weekdays.
This extends the time available by one hour. Our breakfast service time will remain the same (8am until 11.00am) but we will now have a delicious range of sandwiches for sale, along with our jacket potatoes, soup, and salad bar.
Saturday and Sunday -
10am to 2pm
What happens on Gig nights?
On weekday nights when there is a Union Gig the refectory will close at 4pm. On these days you have the option of eating in the refectory between 2pm and 4pm or collecting a packaged meal up to 6pm to take away.
What if I can't get to the Refectory before 6.30pm?
If on certain days you won't be able to get to the Refectory before 6.30 pm then inform the duty manager before 11 am and they will arrange for a packaged meal to be made up for your collection.
What can I eat?
We have carefully planned some special meals for you which are nutritionally balanced and offer a variety of options. There will be offers for breakfast and afternoon/evening meal available each weekday and which will be covered by your daily Meal Plan allowance. These offers will be clearly displayed in the refectory. Of course, if you wish to choose other options or additional items you are very welcome to do so, but you will be required to pay any additional cost at the till. At weekends a brunch offer will be available.
Can I spend more than the daily value on my card?
£9.40 should be sufficient to purchase a nutritious breakfast and evening meal from the refectory. If you want to spend more you can use cash at the till to add to the value on your card.
What if I lose my card?
You should report a lost card to the Student Campus Card Office (open 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday, in University House - next to the refectory) as soon as possible. They will arrange to issue you with a new card within 1 working day. £10 will be charged to your residence account for administration.
If you need to obtain a meal prior to being issued with a replacement card, or if you have temporarily mislaid your card, you should speak to the duty manager in the refectory prior to going to the till. You will be asked to pay for your meal and be given a receipt, you can then take the receipt to the Student Campus Card Office for reimbursement (reimbursements are dealt with on Wednesdays only).
What are the term dates when I may use my card?

Term 2:
7 January - 16 March
Term 3:
