Bus and Coach travel to CentreCATH

The largest local bus company operating in Leeds is First Leeds (Tel. (0113) 245-1601). These buses are green and cream, white and purple or orange and red. Buses only stop at bus stops, which are clearly marked with a “Metro” sign. Where several bus stops are close together, signs on the stops will show which services stop at each one.

From the Leeds bus and coach station

The National Express coach terminal (i.e. long distance bus station) is adjacent to the local bus station. Local bus routes 28, 93C, 96, 97, 655 and 731 all go past the main entrance of the University. There is also a taxi rank, but taxis are not as plentiful as from the railway station. Just ask the taxi driver for the University of Leeds main entrance off Woodhouse Lane. You will recognise the main entrance by the white clock tower - "the Parkinson Building".

From the railway station

When you leave the railway station you will find yourself in "City Square". Across the Square to your left is the main Post Office. The street which runs to the right of the Post Office as you look at it is "Infirmary Street", where there are many bus stands. All buses such as numbers 1, 63B, 93, 95 and 96A from stand B (except limited stop buses whose numbers are prefixed by X) go to the main entrance of the University. Tell the bus driver your stop is "Woodhouse Lane/University Parkinson steps". The journey usually takes about 15 minutes. You will recognise the main entrance by the white clock tower - the "Parkinson Building".

From the City Centre

Bus services 1, 28, 56, 57, 61, 62, 93, 95, 96, 97, 655, 731, 755, 780 and 789, operated by First Leeds, all run past the University and through the City Centre.

You should alight at the bus stop on "Woodhouse Lane/University Parkinson steps". The main entrance to the campus is located to the left of the Parkinson building with its distinctive clock tower.
