Bren is a Senior Research Fellow (Sociology) in the Centre for Research on Family, Kinship and Childhood at the University of Leeds. She has a background in qualitative 'family' research, with an interest in life course changes and processes, parenthood, gender and generation. Her most recent research has explored children's experiences of living in re-organised families.

At CAVA, Bren has been involved in Strands 1 and 2, and she is co-leader of Strand 3b, the Divorce and Marital Separation project.
