Culture and Creativity

The CCASE-NET team hosted a 2 day workshop for the EPSRC in the University on 17 & 18 May 2005.

The objectives of this workshop were to bring together the researchers in the 18 projects in the Culture and Creativity Programme (with the Programme Director of the Designing for the 21st Century Cluster Programme) in order to:

a) gain a greater understanding of the creative processes for research which involved the arts & humanities and the science & engineering domains

b) suggest the most appropriate funding mechanisms for developing the EPSRC Culture and Creativity Programme

c) enable researchers to learn from each others experience

d) start the process of building a research community which spanned the two domains

The Programme for the event was designed to encourage maximum interaction possible between projects and to share experiences.

The event was attended by 46 delegates from each of the 18 projects, including officers from the EPSRC, ACE, ESRC & AHRC.

The report of the event is lodged on the EPSRC website.

There is a list of the issues raised by members during the day.
