Clothworkers,
Leeds' Lord Mayor, present and former staff, students
and music enthusiasts from across the region formed
the enthralled audience which came to hear Murray Perahia's
concert at the University.
Works by Beethoven and Brahms were performed to commemorate
the re-opening of the Clothworkers’ Centenary
Concert Hall, made possible by the generous donation
of £1.37m from the Clothworkers’ Foundation.
After rapturous applause Dr Perahia returned to the
stage to give a virtuoso performance of Schubert's Impromptu
in E flat.
