What is a chaplain?

The Chaplains are experienced at listening and offering support, guidance and accompaniment. We work with staff and students (of all faiths and none) at Leeds Metropolitan University and the University of Leeds.

Chaplains can accompany you when:

  • you're finding university life difficult & need someone to talk to
  • you need time to think
  • you need to make a decision and need support in doing so
  • you regret what has happened and need to move on
  • someone has died and you need support

How to find us

The Chaplaincy works out of three buildings: Emmanuel Centre, University of Leeds; The Catholic Chaplaincy at 5 St Marks Place; The Cottage, Leeds Metropolitan University Headingley Campus. Events at all locations are open to staff and students of both universities. For directions to the Chaplaincy click here. In the Chaplaincy you will find a place to meet and grab a coffee or tea, pray, worship, share, reflect, or ask questions.
