A Welcome to all
Welcome to Leeds, one of the most popular cities to study in England! You time here will be the most important in your life. Your achievement here will establish you in our world and make you the person you want to be.
University life is both exciting and highly rewarding and without saying challenging and demanding too. There is so much to do and to learn. However, being away from home, there would be time of uncertainty and loneliness. Fortunately, we are not here by ourselves. When I came here to study 38 years ago, there was this doubt in my mind, if I can achieve my goal. There were many worries. Looking back, I thank God for the many good friends I made who helped and supported me. There are many like-minded people and we can help each other. We make many sacrifices to come over here to study and we can make our world a better place to live. My study here is easily the best time in my life and coming to know Jesus as my Saviour and best friend is my greatest discovery.
Do not miss our International Student Club on Wednesday and meet people who can understand us. If ever you feel anything too much to handle by yourself, do not forget we chaplains here are always glad to help. It is a pleasure and a privilege to have a little part to play in your time here and we wish you God’s blessing and every success.
