You will need two references: one academic and one relevant experience. Any extra references will not be used.
Please choose your referees carefully. You should check that they are willing to write a reference for you and that they can submit the reference by the deadline of 14 December 2011. You should also ensure that they can comment on the areas covered by the type of reference you are asking them to write. If they cannot answer several of the questions in the reference this could affect your application.
A sample copy of each reference is provided below so you can check what information is required:
Sample Academic Reference (for information only - not for use)
Sample Experience Reference (for information only - not for use)
The academic referee should be able to comment on your academic ability and preferably have direct experience of your academic work. The relevant experience referee should be able to comment on your performance in a clinical and/or research context.
Course centres prefer to have up-to-date references where possible, and some course centres have specific requirements about who can act as your referees. To check whether the course centres you are interested in have specific requirements on this, please see the Entry Requirements and Selection Procedure information for each course centre.
You should not normally ask your close relations, members of your immediate household or your business partner to be your referee. In other words, your referees should not have personal connections with you. If, however, you cannot avoid using such a referee, you should explain why and state the nature of the relationship in the Personal Statements, Background Information section of your application.
