If you will finish your Open University degree/conversion diploma in October 2011, and get your results in December 2011/January 2012, you can apply for clinical psychology courses starting in autumn 2012. Please submit your application by the closing date and let us know your degree/conversion diploma result as soon as the Open University informs you. You will need to provide a copy of the academic transcript for your degree/conversion diploma as soon as you receive it.
If you will not finish your Open University degree/conversion diploma until October 2012 (so you will not get your results until December 2012/January 2013) you cannot apply for the clinical psychology courses starting in autumn 2012. This is because you must have Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership before the courses start.
Some course centres consider people who are undergraduates when they apply, but some do not. Please see the Entry Requirements information for each course centre for details. Please note that very few undergraduates are successful eg only five have been accepted nationally in the last five years.
There is no system of deferred entry. If you do not take up your place in autumn 2012 you will normally be expected to re-apply the following year. Course centres may occasionally allow deferred entry in unforeseen circumstances but they are not obliged to.
