About the team
The Employee Communications team supports faculties, schools and
services to improve their communications, and give staff access to the
information they need to work happily and effectively.
We’re the team behind Campusweb, updating it with current news and events, and we keep the corporate website fresh and topical. You’ll also know us for the Reporter, which we publish nine times a year.
Our team is a vital element in the promotion of the University’s strategy and values amongst employees. With strategy now at the heart of the University we are working to show how everyone can play a part in its success.
So in other words, we let you know what’s happening and help make the University a better place to work in, which can’t be bad can it?

Projects
A lot of our work is project based, so you’ll often see us
out and about on campus.
These projects can involve anything from compiling staff induction packs, to developing and promoting events such as the annual healthy week. Lately, the team has been supporting staff wellbeing, creating communications for corporate events and transferring publications into the new identity.
We’ve recently been involving staff in the University’s values by running workshops to show how we fit in with the aim of becoming a top 50 University. Our work with schools and services has also seen us planning for staff who will be moving into the new student services building, and helping the school of performance and cultural industries to relocate to their eye-catching new home in the heart of the campus.
And it's not just about work in print or online. As our team has strong experience of writing, communications and project management, we can provide an all-round communication service. We've even made a DVD for potential new staff to give them a feel for working life at Leeds.
Contact us if you need our help with your project.

The Reporter
The Reporter is more than just a staff magazine; it highlights
the very best examples of research, innovation and major developments
on campus. It’s published monthly during term time and is circulated
to over 7,500 people including employees, alumni and journalists.
Sarah Ward is the driving force behind the Reporter, and works with the rest of the department to ensure it’s always full of fascinating news. Why not read the latest issue online, or tell us your story?

Websites
There are dozens of websites within the University, but the corporate
site acts as the University’s main shop window.
You’ll have noticed how the stories and images on www.leeds.ac.uk change regularly - well it’s our job to keep these pages up to date. We also manage Campusweb to keep everyone informed about what’s happening around the University.
Our designer and web writers keep the corporate website up to date and ensure that all our copy is sparkling, which is handy because we’re currently working on a bright new look for the corporate website as well as transforming several other major sites.
We also work closely with information systems services (ISS) web team and external suppliers on websites for the University, such as Leeds' exciting collaboration with Opera North.
