'Basics'
The thesis behind this website goes like this:
Demographic entrapment is massive. For just how massive see 'Figure X' Africa, and Malawi.
It is absolutely taboo.
There are at least 25 reasons for this - the 25 population 'Demons'. See Chapter 29 Box 29.1
If the South has to reduce its fertility to avoid starvation and violence, the North will have to modify its lifestyle - this is Demon 3.
Who is most worried by this? - the United States.
It would therefore make good political sense for the US - Demon 21- to try to keep entrapment taboo (and demography corrupt). It is well able to set the political correctness (Demon 16) which does this, since it dominates demography globally, and the UN agencies. There is abundant evidence that it is doing exactly this. See Demon 21 is therefor a determinant of the direst poverty, starvation, and violence of the greatest possible magnitude. See Chapter 29, Section 29.3 The case against Demon 21.
It is a political threat. A political threat deserves a political answer. But what? "Genu robustum ad inguen gentes superantium acerrime applicandum" - "A bloody good knee to the geopoltical crotch of the current superpower". See Section 29.5 Demon 21 gets its Genu robustum...
Paradoxically, this thesis (that the US has the world over a demographic barrel...) is both so banally obvious as to require no argument, and the same time so outrageous many people cannot and will not believe it
Mary L, is a very bright US physician with much experience in international health. She had never heard of entrapment. I explained it and the postulated role of Demon 21 (US interests in keeping entrapment taboo). "Of course she said, What else would you expect?"
What would be remarkable would be, if it were not happening!
Since demographers and development economists never discuss entrapment, both disciplines have to be declared intellectually corrupt, so too must the agencies dependent on them, particularly UNDP, UNFPA, and IPPF, etc.
Some terms
Demographic entrapment A community is demographically trapped if it exceeds the carrying capacity of its local ecosystem, and has nowhere to migrate to, and has insufficient exports, and therefor insufficient imports to pay for food and other essentials.
The outcome of entrapment is the severest poverty, stunting, starvation and violence.
It is also trapped, if, because its population is increasing, this outcome can be expected in the near future.
The term 'demographic entrapment' was probably first used by Harvey Liebenstein in the 1950s. {5} There does not appear to be a formal definition of it, so I have given it this one.
Disentrapment the process of rescuing a community from demographic entrapment - 'getting out of the demographic trap'. I had to invent this term.
Hardinian taboo The taboo that prevents the discussion of entrapment. This was named by Paul Demeny after the US ecologist, Garrett Hardin, who has long been describing the taboos that we humans use to avoid facing up to our population problems.
'Demon' One of reasons for the reasons for the Hardinian taboo. There are at least 25 of these. See
Benign uproar the intense argument that arises as the Hardinian taboo starts to lift and behaviour starts to change.
'Angel' The above terms are increasingly accepted. It has yet to be seen if 'Angel' will prove useful. As long as the Demons keep the Hardinian taboo in place trapped communities proceed to the direst poverty, starvation and violence. However, once the taboo starts to lift, and benign uproar begins, the Demons become beneficent angels of change - in effect they become 'Angels'.
