July - December 2001
The final stage of the project will involve careful critical evaluation of the accumulated data and the production of summary documents, articles, conference papers, and research reports for a variety of audiences; notably disabled people and their organisations, professionals, policy makers, policians and academics. All published material will be written in clear, jargon free language and produced simultaneously in accessible formats.
Additionally, members of the research team will visit all of the nine locations studies to disseminate and discuss findings with participants, service providers and users. The timing and structure of these events will be determined by the local organisation.
The project will conclude with a two day national conference organised by the research team. It will be aimed at disabled people, their organisations, service providers from both the public and private sectors, and politicians and policy makers. Presentations will centre on the research and the issues raised and their implications for further development of the disabled community and the dvelopment of more user friendly services.
