Terms of reference of the Scottish Committee

Bearing in mind the distinctive nature of the educational structure and qualification systems, the legal framework, and the administrative funding arrangements in Scotland; the educational, social, cultural and economic relevance of higher education in Scotland:

The Scottish Committee is asked to consider within the Terms of Reference of the main Committee:

• the distinctive aspects of Scottish higher education which need to be taken into account by the Committee of Inquiry;
• the potential contribution of, and the requirement for and of, Scottish higher education, in the Scottish, UK and international context; and
• factors particularly relevant to the future shape, range, organisation and funding of Scottish higher education;

and advise the Committee of Inquiry accordingly.
