Anthea Fraser Gupta is a sociolinguist with research interests in child language in a social context, World Englishes, Singapore English, and language disorder in bilingual children and in children who speak non-standard varieties of English. Educated at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and the University of York, she taught at the National University of Singapore for 21 years, until joining the University of Leeds in 1996. She is currently Senior Lecturer in Modern English Language.
