The
European Nursing Module (ENM) Network is an association of interested
institutions from different countries who provide nurse education
programmes leading to the appropriate basic qualification for practice.
The Network wishes to encourage new members and will accept institutions
that fulfil the application criteria.
Requests for membership of the Network from interested institutions
should be made initially to the Network Co-ordinator. The Network
Secretary will then write to the interested institution to-
1. Outline the outcomes and broad aims of the Module and the resource
implications of running the module and membership of the Network,
2. Request the following information from institutions who then
wish to pursue their application
a.
details of the length of their nurse education programme
b. the total number of nursing students in their programme
c. details about the institution
d. a commitment to accept the outcomes and broad aims of the ENM
Module, provide the resources to support the exchange programme,
meet the financial obligation of membership of the Network and attend
the Annual Network Conference.
This
information will be submitted to a sub-group of the Network Steering
Group for review. Applicants, who have provided the required information
and been accepted for membership become full members on payment
of the annual subscription fee due on receipt of invoice and thereafter
in January each year. In addition, new Network members are required
to attend an ENM Network Management Conference, held annually in
April, before participating in any student exchanges.
Alternatively, successful applicants for Network membership can
attend a Conference prior to payment of their fee and -
Attend the
Conference and join the Network there by payment of the subscription
fee
Return to
their institution for further discussion. If after reflection
they still wish to join the Network, they may do so on payment
of the annual subscription fee on receipt of invoice or the following
January as outlined above.
Any interested institution may attend one Conference as an observer
and then apply for membership as outlined above.Any institutional
representatives attending the ENM Conference as an observer or as
a prospective member must pay the conference fee and any other expenses
associated with their attendance.
On payment of the annual subscription, the institution will be required
to nominate one person as their institutional contact who will represent
the institution on the Steering Group and vote on issues concerning
the Network. Steering Group members are expected to attend the Annual
Planning Meeting if at all possible, or send an institutional representative.
Only three institutions from any one country will be considered
for Network membership in order to offer the widest possible cultural
and professional experiences to students participating in exchanges.
Consideration will be given to this issue before inviting institutions
to apply for membership. The Steering Group at the Annual Planning
Meeting will review this number as necessary.
