Britain's managers
must lift their game if they are to close the productivity gap with
their competitors, new research from the Programme reveals. The
latest report from Robert
Taylor, 'Partnerships at Work. The Way to Corporate Renewal'
is available here.
This exciting
and innovative initiative has brought together leading researchers
in the United Kingdom in an investigation of the future prospects
for paid and unpaid work. The most systematic and rigorous enquiry
of its kind, the ESRC programme has provided the evidence based
research to assist policy makers, practitioners and researchers
to interpret the changing world of work in an era of rapid social,
technological and economic change.
In recognition
of the continuing success of the Programme, and its impact on academic
and policy debates, the ESRC awarded additional funds to maintain
the important research and policy networks created since the Programme's
inception in October 1998. The additional grant has supported inter
alia, three national seminars and a second international colloquium.
