- Monday, March 26, 2012, 12:00 to 15:00http://www.sddu.leeds.ac.uk/handsonthefuture/ This is an opportunity to experiment with some of the latest technologies being used in learning and teaching by academic staff at the University of Leeds and view some of the new technologies on the horizon.
13/12/2011: Booking rooms and equipment for teaching.
- Please could all teaching and school timetabling staff check that the AV and associated equipment required for teaching is available in the rooms that have been allocated for semester two. There have been a number of incidents in semester one where teaching staff have not requested the equipment that they would like or need during the timetabling process eg whiteboards, OHPs, and multi-region DVD and therefore have not been allocated the most suitable room. If any member of staff requires equipment which is not available in the room allocated, please inform your local/school timetabling staff.

17/02/2011: Reminder - When hosting guest speakers, please always remember to request a guest login for CTS pc's from the ISS Helpdesk (xt33333) in advance. Teaching Technology Support cannot issue or 'lend' you ISS usernames and passwords.
17/02/2011: Video Playback
- The multi-region playback software VLC is no longer available in the majority of Central Teaching Space due to unreliability issues. Therefore not all CTS rooms have multi-region playback. If you require multi-region playback this semester please call Elizabeth Brittain on 0113 343 2678 to check that the room you are using does have this facility. 23/08/2010: Refurbishment - Conference Auditorium LT’s 1 and 2 – these rooms now have new AV control systems. If you are using these rooms next semester we recommend you contact us to arrange a brief training session before teaching begins - Estates Helpdesk (xt35555 eshelp@leeds.ac.uk)
23/08/2010: Refurbishment - Conference Auditorium LT’s 1 and 2 – you can now link the two theatres using an installed camera in LT 1 which allows the audience in LT 2 to see and hear the presenter and view any AV materials being used. 23/08/2010: IT advice - don’t forget to log in to the installed pc’s in the rooms you will be using next semester before teaching begins. This will enable your profile to be loaded which will save crucial time before your first lecture takes place. This process should only take 10 minutes. 23/08/2010: VCR's - Please remember that only 50% of Central Teaching Space now have VCR’s. If you require a room with a VCR you will need to alert Timetabling
23/08/2010: Intercom - A number of Central Teaching Space rooms now have intercom systems for rapid communication with Helpdesk in case of any problems. Simply press the ‘call’ button and ask for help. We will attend within 10 minutes. Full instructions are in the rooms.
23/08/2010: DVD playback - The DVD playback software ‘VLC’ is now provided on all installed pc’s in Central Teaching Space. We recommend you use VLC for all DVD playback.
