Capital Development Team

This is a new team which was formed to manage the major strategic initiatives within Estates Technical Services that support the overall University strategy, particularly the £350m investment in our built environment. The section will deal with projects over £3m or those of a specialist nature, usually adopting the executive project management function.

These projects will need to meet the increasingly demanding sustainability agenda and our responses to the challenges posed by new legislation for low carbon construction will be spearheaded by the team.

The team will focus on supplier management to ensure that Estates continues to deliver a best value service to the University in conjunction with its external consultants and contractors. We will devise, procure and implement framework contracts for professional consultancy services for use throughout Technical Services. Supporting this will be a significant body of work to review and improve our core systems and procedures.
