Property Management

We manage the University's property portfolio. This is no mean feat considering it comprises over 600,000 sq m gross in buildings, and significant land holdings. The University's campus is adjacent to Leeds City Centre and has an area of 96 acres. In addition there are residential areas and land to the north and west of the City, plus farmland at Tadcaster which, together with the campus sites, give a total land area of 1,232 acres.

Much of the Estate is owned freehold, but there is a large property estate within the teaching hospital sites where our ownership is leasehold. A small number of properties are leased in by the University, with some properties rented out to third parties. All property transactions, i.e. sales and leases, are handled by Estates.
